The exact mechanics inside the huddle app today

Identity verification on huddle is a four-step flow, completed in this order inside the app:
Identity verification is required to become a Pet Carer or create a Group. Other huddle features (Social Forum, Discover, Live Map pin drops) do not require it.
Yes. huddle supports two profile types:
Animal Friends can use the Social feed, join Groups, follow Pet Profiles of friends, volunteer with rescues, and offer help on the Live Map.
Both are ways to reach out to a huddle member you don't already know.
Both protect everyone from spam outreach.
The Care Scope is the agreement between you and the Pet Carer on rate, dates, and care details — confirmed in-app before payment.
The Start PIN is a short code you share with the Pet Carer at handoff to officially start the booking. Sharing the PIN records your consent that the pet (or access to the care location) has been handed off. The booking only enters "in progress" once the Pet Carer submits the valid Start PIN plus the required handoff photo and provider confirmation.
Huddle reviews Start PIN events, handoff photos, and check-in records when deciding refunds, no-start charges, payouts, disputes, or safety reviews.
Canonical reach and duration per plan, from the app:
huddle supports these pet types as canonical categories in the app: Dogs, Cats, Birds, Fish, Reptiles, Small Mammals, Farm Animals, Others. Pet Profiles, Pet Carer matching, and care service options all use this taxonomy.
huddle Care lists eight canonical care types, matching what the app offers:
Yes. Huddle charges a 10% platform fee on the agreed Care Scope. The fee is deducted before the Pet Carer payout. There are no hidden surcharges — what shows at checkout is what gets paid.

The huddle Live Map gives local pet situations a real location, which makes it clearer and more actionable than a general feed post.
The huddle Live Map uses four main pin types so users can match the alert to the situation quickly.
Use huddle immediately because huddle gives you local map visibility, nearby alerts, and wider community response in one flow instead of making you piece together separate posts, messages, and map tools.
